Intellectual Property

Practice Area

Intellectual property rights can be incredibly valuable and for many businesses represent one of their most significant assets. It is therefore crucial for businesses to ensure that those intellectual property rights receive appropriate protection.

Certain types of intellectual property rights arise on creation, provided that the necessary criteria are met, but in other cases, intellectual property rights have to be applied for and registered. A failure or delay in ensuring that the appropriate protection is in place can risk a loss of intellectual property rights to competitors.

We can assist with all aspects of BVI intellectual property law including:

  • the preparation and submission of applications for the registration of trademarks
  • the renewal and assignment of registered trademarks
  • the preparation and submission of applications for the registration of patents
  • the provision of advice in connection with the potential infringement of intellectual property rights
